Seeking out the perfect Valentine’s Day gift can be daunting. Depending on your significant other and where you are in your relationship, it could be easier or more difficult to shop for that special someone. I am not a big fan of Valentine’s Day. Though, if I were a chocolate or flower shop owner I may think differently. Fun fact: you can buy your partner chocolate and flowers any day of the year.

If Valentine’s Day is truly a special occasion, make it special by giving them something that they will truly love and cherish as much as they love and cherish you. As this is a travel blog, it is only right that I provide you with a list of what to get a travel lover for Valentine’s Day.

Obviously, buying a trip for your spouse or longtime partner is a great idea. It is just not a cheap one. I sought to provide an affordable gift guide for my fellow travelers. Woo the pants off of your partner (see what I did there) with these awesome gifts for your travel-loving lover.

Nothing brings people closer together than craft time.

A Scrapbook of your Travels Together

A scrapbook is a thoughtful gift that will show your other half that you care. The attention that goes into creating a scrapbook is very personal and heartfelt. As the giver, you will have a chance to strengthen your bond by reminiscing about the adventures you had together, and the receiver will feel the devotion behind this gift. Scrapbooks are fun and you can even add new memories together as you travel more in the future. A scrapbook is a sincere gift that will last for years to come. You cannot go wrong with a scrapbook when buying for a travel lover.

A Travel Journal

For your companion who not only loves to travel but also loves to write, there are a number of lovely journals that you can bestow upon them. This is another gift that will help preserve memories of your relationship and adventures. Gifting your partner a travel journal shows that you truly understand them at their core. You fully support their aspirations to write, and you love them all the more for it. As travelers, we love to remember everything that we see, feel, smell, hear, and touch in every new place. Writing is how we capture those moments. A journal may not seem like a Valentine’s Day gift, but for a travel writer, nothing could be more romantic.

Ah, to remember where you have been together.

A Necklace or Bracelet with Engraved Coordinates

Travelers are some of the few people who will find coordinates especially amorous. There are so many options for what coordinates you could put on your partner’s jewelry: where you first met, your first trip together, where you got married, honeymoon, you get the idea. You could get a matching coordinate piece for yourself, or just get one for them. The possibilities are endless. I love jewelry, but I tend to avoid overly expensive pieces. These simple necklaces and bracelets are affordable and cute to boot. This gift is meaningful, whimsical, and perfect to get a travel lover for Valentine’s Day.

A place to hold all of your travel goodies with a personal touch.

Personalized Travel Case

Southerners know the appeal of monogramming literally everything. It makes so much sense because how else will you differentiate peoples’ belongings? Travel cases are a necessary item for all travelers and adding that personal touch makes it a perfect Valentines Day gift. Giving a personalized travel case is like saying I want to travel with you for the rest of my life and know whose travel case is whose. The romantic gesture is almost too much to bare.

This tie says you are put together and have seen the world.

World Map Necktie

A necktie is always a practical gift. Ties are classic, and what better way to spice up a classic than to put a map of the world on it? As a traveler, I own many items that have a world map background. I just like the aesthetic.

Picture yourself putting this tie on your better half in a classic domestic scene from a movie. Perhaps imagine pulling them in for a kiss on the streets of Paris, or Tokyo, or anywhere in the world. Any picturesque scene you can imagine will be more dreamy with a world map necktie. Ties are generally specified for men, but if your woman can rock a necktie, I say get her one!

Gifts for the Couples who love to Joke

Help your old lady urinate freely.

Shewee

Nothing says I love you like the gift of peeing standing up. Women, rejoice. With a Shewee, you can simply straddle a plastic funnel and pee without the fear of getting your pants wet. This gift tells your partner that you care about her urinal limitations. You want to go on long hikes with her without her having to pop a squat to pee in what she hopes isn’t a patch of poison ivy. Make sure that your girlfriend/wife/lady friend knows how much you care. Get her a Shewee.

Happy couples have happy behinds.

Travel Bidet

Giving your significant other the gift of a clean behind is the pinnacle of romance. Who wants to worry about whether or not there is sufficient toilet paper when they travel? Certainly not me, and definitely not the love of your life. As they say, cleanliness is akin to Godliness. Show your affection by giving your paramour a travel bidet.

Flatulence Filtering Under Garments

To help your partner avoid any weird smell suspicion whilst in transit, give them some sexy underwear that absorbs gaseous smells that may leak from their behind. This gift shows that you are in an honest and open relationship where you can tell each other anything, even when that thing is that you are smelly. Being trapped on a plane with the odd air pressure can have a negative effect on some people. If one of those people is yours, it is only right that you give them skivvies to ease their passage. This gift is for couples who have been together long enough to not be offended.

There is no shame in drinking wine alone with your cat on Valentine’s Day.

For the Cat Ladies

For those of you who prefer the company of your cats to the company of other people and find yourself single on Valentine’s Day, worry not. You are not alone. Treat yourself to something that shows your accomplishments as an excellent cat parent. Better yet, shower your beloved felines with gifts of catnip and cat grass. While they are rolling around in a kitty high, or gnawing on grass, you can pour yourself a glass of wine or a cup of tea and enjoy the companionship of your sweet fur children.
