Blogging

I use two of Nomadic Matt’s Superstar Blogging Courses.

Both courses have and continue to help me become a better blogger and writer. I highly recommend them if you are serious about travel blogging. He offers 7 courses in total, so I’m sure that you can find the right one for you!

Accommodations

Airbnb allows you to stay in a local’s home, providing you with a more immersive and sometimes more affordable stay.

Hostelworld is my go-to site for booking hostels all around the world.

Transportation

Google Flights is my favorite place for comparing flight prices.

Japan Rail Pass is the most affordable way to travel throughout Japan.

Simplify Travel

TSA Pre-check is something that I highly recommend to U.S. travelers to decrease time spent checking into the airport.

Global Entry is another option for certain world citizens who frequently travel internationally.

Travel Insurance

It is always a good idea to have insurance when you travel. Always be prepared for the unexpected. World Nomads is an excellent place to find excellent and affordable travel insurance.

Apps

Mobile Passport will get you past the lines and through customs in a breeze. It is currently available in 26 U.S airports and 3 cruise ports.

Google Translate could save you in countries where you don’t speak the language. I once ordered a meal by translating back and forth using this app.

Google Maps is standard for getting around in any country. Even without cell phone data, you can download maps with wifi and the GPS will still work without it.
